Little Ruth - Look at that smile and those pigtails. You would never know she spends her days wondering around the slum looking for something to eat. When she heard we needed her photo so we could help her she was so happy and gave us that stellar smile. Ruth is also part of that family with eleven children. Her older sister, Selvine has been a Mighty Acorn, living in the children’s home for the past five years. Now Ruth, along with three other of Selvine's siblings need our help. Some time ago, their father left their mother due to the pressure of taking care of such a large family. Which left mom to care for everyone on her own. She would spend all day in the forest collecting firewood to sell, only earning pennies for her long day of work. It was never enough to clothe, feed, or send her children to school. She recently has lost hope and has turned to a life of begging leaving her children to fend for themselves most days. They have not attended school for some time now and desperately wish to be able to learn and be in a safe environment. Their clothes are tattered and torn, seem to not have been able to shower in weeks, and their stomachs are empty. Their need has been brought to MAF for help. To find them a sponsoring family that is able to provide support. That support will allow our partners to bring them into Seed's Children's Home with Selvine.
