UPDATE: Christine is now 20! Her life is so much better since she has been at Seed's. She is safe and has graduated from high school and gone on to college, where she is studying agriculture. There have been lots of healing emotionally and spiritually and we are thankful for earlier sponsors that have helped support her. We're now in need of a new sponsor for Christine. Someone that would enjoy sending letters and connecting with her.  We are so thankful for the beautiful restoration that has been happening for her. Sponsorship will give her encouragement and bring so much value and significance! Are you the one?

There are just some stories you have to tell that are so hard - Christine has one of those stories. And to see her smiling in this photo - we're not sure how that is even possible. Christine is 15, she lost her mom sometime back after she lost a long battle with stomach cancer. Shortly after her mom's death her father became mentally ill, becoming unable to function and support Christine and her two siblings. Christine became the primary provider for the family, taking odd jobs. This caused her to miss a lot of school and her academics have suffered - but somehow she held it together enough to pass her 8th grade national exam and qualify to go to high school this year. If all this wasn't enough - one of the jobs she had was to do laundry for a neighbor - this neighbor began violating Christine.  Our partners heard about the situation and immediately went to check on family. They found Christine and her siblings in horrible conditions and removed them from the home at once. Taking the three children to the local Children's Office where they were granted custody.

Christine has already been placed in the safety of Seed's Children's Home. Now we need to find a sponsor for her. Would you be able to help? This is one special girl - to have been through unspeakable hardship and still be able to smile says a lot about the strong person she is.
