UPDATED STORY: Rebecah has loved her time at Seed's children's home. She has thrived in school and is now in college studying Beauty and getting her diploma in cosmetology. Life at "home" is not easy, so she's faced many difficulties now that she's out of high school and living with family when she's not in college. Rebecah's determination to live free of poverty and make a life for herself has driven her to face her hardships and reach for her dreams. ORIGINAL STORY: Rebecah is ten years old and lives in the slums with her mother and father. She has a brother and sister who are already living in the orphanage. Rebecah hopes to be a doctor when she grows up and to some day visit the States. Rebecah talks about the difficult life in the slums, and the violence that surrounds her and the fact that grown men use machetes on each other with no concern at all for the children who might be witnessing it. She painfully tells us about the lack of food, clothing, and bedding. Rebecah sleeps on the floor covered in a mosquito net each night. She wants more than anything to join her brother and sister who are living in the orphanage and to become a better person.
