UPDATE #2: Leila is now 21 and in college studying business. She is excelling and has a couple more years to go. We want to see her through to her first job outside of the orphanage and are in need of a new sponsor. Would you be willing to sponsor Leilan as she finishes up college and begins her life out in the community successfully? Can you help us help her?

UPDATE:  Leila - such a beautiful young lady. She is now 19 and has just graduated from High School. What an amazing accomplishment for her after such a tragic early childhood. She is currently applying to college and plans to go as soon as she receives word she has been accepted. Leila is excited to take this next major step in her life. She has been so grateful for the opportunity to have had a good sponsor to help her get this far. Because of some life changes her current sponsor has not been able to continue sponsoring as Leila continues on to college. So we are looking for a new sponsor that will help Leila continue her education and give her the best opportunity to create a good life for herself. The sponsorship fees don't change from the normal $125 per month - but they are vital for us to help keep her in school and in the care and tutelage of our partners. We are excited for her future - can you help us - help Leila move toward successful independence?

ORIGINAL STORY: Leila is 15 years old and has a precious smile. She has one sister and two brothers, all of whom live with her grandmother and grandfather. Her mother has passed away and her father is no longer in her life. Her grandmother was trying to work by growing and selling onions and garlic in order to provide for her and her siblings, but she was hit by a motor bike and broke her hips and is now in a hospital in Uganda. Lelia has an Aunt in Kitale who tries to help by providing some money but it does very little. She hopes that she and her siblings will be able to live in the orphanage some day and escape the problems they are facing.

Built on love and hope.
