UPDATED: Kelly's grown up so much, he looks like a strong young man at 16 years old. We're so grateful he's regained his health and strength. It was a long tough road, but he's a fighter and has never quit. Kelly is now in Form 3, or as we say, the 11th grade. He's a math wiz and wants to study statistics after high school. He's got a great heart and loves to engage in conversation, we're so thankful his life was spared and he's on a good path. Sponsorship has made that possible. We're now in need of a new sponsor for Kelly as he continues through high school and on to great things. Would you like to get to know him through sponsorship? You'll enjoy the journey.

ORIGINAL STORY: Kelly was 6 years old when his mother died, she was the victim of poisoning rumor was that it was his father's mistress but nothing could be proven. His father, an alcoholic, left Kelly to fend for himself most of the time. His days have consisted of begging and picking through the trash for food. What clothing he has is tattered and filthy he has struggled for the last two years just to stay alive.

About six months after his wife's death Kelly's dad married his mistress, she has two of her own children and has recently lashed out against Kelly as there has been too little for the family to survive on.

Last week Kelly was found in the slum poisoned and near death we believe it was a neighbor that found him and rushed him to the hospital. They got him there just in time and the doctors where able to save his life. Again rumors point to Kelly's stepmom not an uncommon occurrence in the slum many times step children are the victims of these types of horrible crimes.

Our partners heard the story and knew Kelly was not safe to go back home into the slums so they intervened immediately. Kelly is now at the orphanage and needs a sponsor one who will reach out to him and let him know he is loved and not hated. That his life matters and you believe in him! He is 8 years old now and has a great future   will you share it with him? He dreams of being a pilot one day now that dream has a chance to come true!

Built on love and hope.
