Cynthia she's a precious soul and she is truly hurting. We met her on our most recent trip to Kitale and the tears flowed often. Cynthia's mom is in the final stages of life she is suffering from AIDS and her body has begun to show signs of multiple organ failure. Cynthia and her older brother have been caring for her as best they can they lost their father a couple of years ago, he also was HIV positive but he was tragically murdered in the lawless slum of Kipsongo.
Cynthia has an aunt that has helped care for her and her brothers but she has been extremely abusive beating the children for getting their clothes dirty and requiring them to work and neglect their studies. Our concern is that after her mom dies the aunt will move all the children to a nearby town and require them to be laborers for the family dropping out of school and living in a very abusive situation.
We would love to find a sponsor quickly so Cynthia can move into the orphanage even before her mother passes therefore transferring her guardianship to Seed's Children's Home and blocking the family from moving the her and her brothers away.
