Christine is just five years old and is a terrific student. She lives in the slums with both parents who are jobless and must pick through trash in order to survive. She would like to become a doctor some day and "give shots" to people in the slums so they do not become sick. Christine appears very shy but is able to smile at us once in a while in between the sad stories she tells about verbal abuse, fighting, and horrific living conditions in the slums.
