UPDATE: Cathrine is now 17 and in Form 4, or as we say, grade 12. She's excelling in all her science classes and wants to go into agricultural engineering after she graduates. In Kenya that's a great field of study especially in the region she lives in. Kitale is in the breadbasket of the country with lots of crops and livestock. When she's not studying, she enjoys playing volleyball and being with her friends. We're looking for a new sponsor for Cathrine to come alongside her as she finishes high school and moves on to the next chapter of her life... a life filled with hope because of sponsorship. Would you consider being her sponsor for the next couple years?

ORIGINAL STORY: Adorable Cathrine is 12 years old and is the sister of Jacquelyn. Although she is 12 years old, she is only in the second grade due to a delayed entrance into school. Cathrine dreams of being a policewoman some day. Cathrine tells us that both of her parents have passed away so she lives with her elderly grandfather. Her grandfather cannot see well and walks with a walking stick. Cathrine and her sister Jacquelyn do not eat often. She tells us that a "nice neighbor" occasionally brings them food. Cathrine's prayer is that she can get help and move to the orphanage, but does not want to leave her sister behind. Being separated from her sister Jacquelyn is her biggest fear.
