Veona is 14 years old and is in the seventh grade. She loves going to school and learning about science. Someday, she hopes to be a doctor and help heal sick people. She is the youngest of four children in her family. Her mother died as soon as she was born and her father died when she was just seven years old. She stays with her grandmother. She is struggling to go to school. She works in order to make money. She washes clothes, carries babbies (i.e. baby sits), and does other small jobs. She doesn't always get to eat since she may be working late and comes home to find all the food has been eaten. When asked about what we can be praying for her, she asks that we pray that she can achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. When asked about her favorite food, she says "chips and salsa."
