Little Rebecah is seven years old and is in the first grade. Her favorite subject in school is math. She lives with both her parents in the Kipsongo Slums but neither parent works. They pick through the trash in order to find food and there is rarely enough for Rebecah and her four siblings. She is fed breakfast and lunch at Seeds Academy while she is in school but she never gets dinner and never eats on Sunday. When asked about hardships she faces at home (besides the lack of food), she nonchalantly says she is beaten. She came to the photo session in a torn dirty blouse that was once white with a built-in green vest with sequins. She smiles at the question of what she wants to be when she grows up and says "a pilot."
