Little Joel, he's pretty tiny for a 5 year old. He most likely doesn't really know the tragedy that has fallen upon his family. Last November his father was murdered by a neighbor and as a result his mother has been so traumatized that she has been unable to care for him and his 4 brothers and one sister.
What he does know is that things are not like they use to be, he is hungry most of the time, he hasn't seen his dad for what seems like months and his mom seems very sick. We can't imagine how confusing all of this must be for him.
We need to find him a sponsor very soon, to move him out of the nightmare that has fallen upon him and his family. We need someone to send him simple letters and little books or gifts, to assure him that he is loved and will be cared for.
